Mission Statement

We strive to bring you a great tasting meal and excellent service to help make your event memorable.  Our goal is to let the host become a guest.

You do not have time to fret about the event meal.  There are plenty of other things going on around you.  We are here to provide a great meal for the event and to provide stress relief for you.

Ready to have a worry free event?  Then you have found the caterer to make you and your event a success.

Call Melody or Jackie, or come in and visit with them and plan your event.  Use their experience to help plan the menu and set-up.  Not sure where to have your event?  We work with various locations that have space available for large groups whether it is in Idabel, Broken Bow Lake, or the surrounding area.

Our Story

We got our 1st smoker over 25 years ago.  Smoking and experimenting in the backyard, we were able to “perfect “ the brisket, ribs, pork butts, and chicken.  Our little backyard hobby drew friends and neighbors over whenever they would smell the hickory smoke floating over the neighborhood.  Doing a lot of smoking for friends led to catering small events for friends.  Then as our kids got a little older (meaning we got a little older) we were doing rehearsal dinners and wedding receptions.  Friends and acquaintances from catering events all encouraged us to “open a business”.  In 2004, M R Pigs Catering Co. was established.   Business quickly outgrew the small kitchen, so the hunt began for another building.  Melody prayed and God answered, immediately!  (Be careful what you pray for.)  M R Pigs Café & Catering Co. was established.

The brisket and ribs are known throughout the area, and the sauces and seasonings (our own recipe) Sweet & Sassy, Hot Hawg, Season-it, and Rub-it, are a favorite by people from across the nation who have tried it. Add L’wood beans (named after a friend who helped with the recipe) and Melody’s area famous potato salad, (she has gotten marriage proposals over the potato salad), and you have a meal that will have you dancing, or if you don’t dance, you will be smiling for a long time!

Why are we the M R Pigs Café & Catering Co.?

There are no shortcuts to the “oh-so-tender” brisket or the “fall-off-the bone” ribs.  Slow smoking, using hickory and our own recipe Rub-it is what makes our BBQ so great. That's why, when everybody else is still sleeping, we're up smoking and making the sauces so good you’ll want to throw everybody else’s away.  We know what you want, and we are going to make sure you get the taste-bud-satisfying, mess-making barbeque you deserve. See, we don’t believe in “ah, it’ll be okay”.  We believe our smoked meats, our BBQ Sauces (Sweet & Sassy and Hot Hawg) and seasonings (Season-It and Rub-It) will make you say WOW, You are “the Pig”!

We are dedicated and determined to making our award winning barbeque – your heart winning barbeque. That’s why our first time customers become our regular customers, and regular customers bring in first time customers.
